Female Cubicles
To ensure functionality and dignity, female toilet cubicles must be designed with sufficient space for sanitary waste bins, which typically measure approximately 540mm by 210mm.
Where coved skirting is installed, it may not be possible to position floor-standing bins flush against the wall. As a result, careful planning is required to ensure bins do not obstruct access or interfere with the use of other fittings.
In some cases, it may be necessary to offset the WC pan within the cubicle to create adequate clearance for the sanitary bin. This adjustment, along with the potential need for luggage or shopping space, may result in a requirement for wider cubicles in female areas compared to male provisions.
Toilet paper dispensers should be placed outside of the designated manoeuvring zone within the cubicle, ensuring they remain accessible without impeding user movement.
