The Need for a New Offer
Tebay South is too busy for many days across the year.
With the previous food offer and counter setup at Tebay South, we were unable to achieve sufficient customer throughput on busy days, and the catering conversion rate would drop off as footfall increased.
The average catering conversion on the quietest 20% of days was 39%. This would drop to 29% on the busiest 20%. This trend of conversion dropping as footfall increased can be seen clearly on the chart below.
In addition to the lost sales opportunity, customer experience during the busy periods was often very poor. Tebay South is the oldest of our MSA’s and at the time Tebay South Kitchen also had the most limited food offer, as well as a very tired, fit-out.
